Getting Paid To Play Video Games

*An azcentral.com story

Remote workers have the luxury of avoiding long commutes, but they also have the added distraction of household needs, like doing the dishes or unloading the washer.

That begs the question: How do remote workers really spend their time?

According to a SurveyMonkey poll of 3,117 full-time U.S. workers, the time may not be spent solely working.

  • 46% of remote or hybrid workers who responded to the poll said they multitask during a work call.
  • 20% even admitted to taking a nap.
  • 17% said they watch TV or play video games during work.
  • 17% of remote workers said they worked from another location without telling anyone.
  • 6% of remote workers said they do household chores during work hours.
  • 4% admitted to working another job.

Remote workers also admitted to doing other things during calls, the survey showed.

  • Nearly one-third of workers said they used the bathroom during calls.
  • 21% said they browsed social media.
  • 14% went on online shopping sprees.
  • 12% did laundry.
  • 9% cleaned the kitchen.
  • 4% admit they fall asleep.
  • 3% take a shower.

What do you do that didn’t make the list, please comment.
